Sleek, timeless, and refined—these are the words that immediately come to mind when thinking of Daily, the South African-owned furniture and homeware brand. With its focus on blending contemporary design with enduring elegance, Daily has established itself as a go-to destination for those seeking high-quality, stylish pieces that seamlessly elevate any space.
Daily was born with a mission: to make life better through design. The brand believes in crafting items that address the challenges of contemporary living, all while upholding the ideals of beauty and precision. The partnership between Under the Aegis and Daily saw its fruition for the South African Art Fairs, Investec Art Fair, RMB Latitudes Art Fair and FNB Art Joburg. With the founder of Daily Joey Khuvutlu having deep respect for craftsmanship and a passion for details, Daily aims to address the complexities of modern life with designs that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are purposeful.
The partnership between Under the Aegis and Daily came to fruition through a shared vision of blending contemporary design with visual art. This vision has been brought to prestigious platforms such as the South African Contemporary Art Fairs,
When Anelisa Mangcu, the founder of Under the Aegis, was asked about why she approached Daily for a partnership for the art fairs, she responded by saying:
I reached out to Daily because of their commitment to craftsmanship, the quality and comfort of its products and its accessibility with its price points. Often we find that when it comes to furniture and our desires to beautify a space, it almost feels impossible to find something that ticks all those boxes. So the collaboration began because I wanted my audience to imagine the artworks I showcase at fairs in their houses/apartments/offices/restaurants/ ateliers etc.
We partnered up for the Investec Cape Town Art Fair in February and it was a success. It only made sense to partner up again for RMB Latitudes Art Fair in May. The combination of the art and furniture pieces was a success, and brought so many people to our booth, hence we won the Lexus Critics Choice Award Best Stand Audience Award. I was truly not expecting it because my focus was on flaunting the artists I was showcasing, Buqaqawuli Thamani Nobakada, Haneem Christian and Mbulelo Lokoto who were all present at the fair. It was a magical experience, and most importantly a collaborative effort.
Led by founder and design director Joey Khuvutlu and head of marketing & co-owner Thithi Nteta, the brand strives to create designs that are not only functional but also beautiful. These collaborations showcase Daily’s commitment to excellence and its dedication to supporting South Africa’s vibrant cultural scene and beyond.
