As I evolve as a being I am constantly looking forward to the future. I do so because I may miss an opportunity to expand my identity, and that is from a fear of being stuck. These works have come about through means of retracing how I have come to be and grasp the fact that even in my stillness while being present, I am always in flux. My identity is layered with moving parts, so while there is good intent in looking forward, my history and parts that I know of myself cannot be
buried below my expansion but rather serve as the roots. My work serves as an exploration and investigation of identity. I do this by transforming ideas of my own consciousness with acknowledgement of my community and understanding that my own thoughts do not exist within a vacuum, these self portraits of different mediums capture my context and not just me as an individual.
